Seth Godin’s work is praised far and wide. Be it his books or blog posts, there’s always something interesting that Seth offers.

The same is true for his podcast.

Dentaly’s Max Harland is a regular listener. “Akimbo caught my attention because it captures marketing in Seth Godin’s characteristic and unique style.”

“I enjoy listening to the Influencers Radio podcast because it breaks down the habits of popular, effective social media influencers in a way that I can replicate in my own content.”

Wondering what a book marketing podcast is doing on the list?

Savvy marketers know they need to study marketing moves outside their immediate field. It’s why following creators, influencers, and authors is a smart move to learn fresh marketing tactics.

As does FlightHacks’ Immanuel DeBeer. “IdeaCast features leading thinkers in the fields of business and management. The likes of Microsoft’s Bill and Melinda Gates, former US Secretary of State John Kerry, acclaimed cellist Yo-Yo Ma, and bestselling author Isabel Allende are some of the notable guests featured on this podcast.”

Why should you tune into this podcast? “It’s like experiencing business, marketing, and management crash courses from the world’s brightest and innovative CEOs, leaders, and educators.”

6. Copyblogger FM

This podcast spills all the copywriting beans that a marketer needs to know to attract and convert leads. 

As Salvador Ordorica from The Spanish Group LLC puts it, “Copyblogger is a richness of knowledge useful to any marketer or content creator. A variety of experts analyze copywriting, content marketing, growth optimization, and more.

“It covers virtually everything about blogging and writing online copy, how to use Twitter more effectively, and using your content to get new customers. Each short-form experience feels like a Copyblogger blog post comes to life.”

Kristaps Brencans from On The Map points out, you can get tons of the “know-how for mastering content in the form of email, blogs, web copy, and everything in between. It’s a fantastic listen that focuses on digital marketing through the specific lens of copywriting, which I view as one of the most important, if not the most important, parts of selling products and growing a business.

“The podcast features a wide range of guests that all offer amazing insight into the craft, and even as a professional marketer myself, I feel as if I learn something new every time I tune in.”

7. Online Marketing Made Easy with Amy Porterfield

“This podcast covers things like how to grow your email list; how to launch your online course, including the launch methods of open vs. closed cart; marketing strategies focused on your ideal customer avatar; and niche marketing,” highlights Abby  Herman from Snap Agency.

If the topics alone aren’t intriguing enough to get you to listen to this podcast, Herman shares more reasons. “This podcast gives great actionable steps to grow your business by connecting with your ideal customer avatar (or ICA), really knowing their pain points to deliver a more customized service or product.”

8. Marketing School with Neil Patel and Eric Siu

In this podcast, SEO and content marketing legends Neil Patel and Eric Siu “serve a short but a very pragmatic daily tidbit of marketing expertise,” writes ResumeLab’s Bart Turczynski.

“Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned marketing vet, there is always something new to learn. From the latest in SEO, content marketing, email marketing, social media, and other online marketing tactics, Neil and Eric get to the point and give you the skinny on what works and why in today’s ever-changing online marketing landscape.”

Hosted by Sophia Amoruso (earlier episodes) and Puno (most recently), you’ll love the Girlboss Radio podcast if you’re looking to learn from inspiring stories of women.

Logit’s Eleanor Bennett talks about this podcast, introducing it as Marie Haynes’ show that covers her “insights on what is happening in the world of SEO.”

“Marie also discusses indexing issues, core updates and relevant errors affecting marketers (such as Google Analytics’ recent problems with filtering bot traffic. The podcast is very timely and if you are ever struggling to wonder what has recently happened within the SERPs, you can be certain Marie will cover it in her show.

This podcast comes from John Jantsch, a marketing consultant, author, and small business coach.

“In the podcast, Jantsch interviews well-known authors, marketing experts, and thought leaders who share marketing tips, effective tactics, and best practices for small business owners, as well as useful resources,” shares Chad Sakonchick from BetterLegal.

Some of the guests that Jantsch has interviewed in the past include: Tim Staples, CEO of Shareability, Kara Goldin, the founder, and CEO of Hint Water, Seth Godin, the author of 19 best-selling books, and more.

So what makes The Duct Tape Marketing show a must listen? Sakonchick suggests the insights and actionable content shared make the podcast a worthy listen for anyone who owns or does marketing for a smaller company.

Next up is a podcast that “focuses on understanding the human brain from the marketing side of things,” as described by Sharon Van Donkelaar  of Expandi.

“If you’re up for a deeper understanding of consumer behaviors to incorporate in your sales strategy, you will find it all here.” 

Depth and unique content are two reasons why Van Donkelaar thinks you should give this podcast a listen. “Social Triggers Insider offers a unique take on marketing when compared to other podcasts that can sound a bit redundant. It gives you a more in-depth perspective of marketing and more importantly, the minds of current-day consumers.”

14. The Authority Hacker Podcast

This podcast is for the SEO nerds out there, but also a great listen for any marketers aiming to improve their SEO game.

“It talks about and gives actionable advice on link-building, SEO (On and Off Page) and content marketing,” says Enrique Ambrocio of Constantly Striving

“This podcast in particular is a must listen because the advice given comes from actual experience! None of the strategies talked about are ever not used; everything mentioned is put into practice first. They always feature some awesome guests who share their success (with digital marketing) and how they did it.”

Cyrus Yung of The World Management comments with three more reasons why you should tune into this podcast: “First, they are authentic in sharing what works for them now, what has not worked for them, what they are using currently, and they constantly learn from other experts to be better in the SEO field.

“Second, they are not afraid to share their opinions, even when both of them have a different stand. Thirdly, they recommend what they are using, other marketing channels to learn from, and even sometimes share good things about what their competitors have done.”

15. The GaryVee Audio Experience

Well-known entrepreneur, CEO, investor, vlogger, and public speaker Gary Vaynerchuk hosts this daily podcast full of marketing and business insights. 

As Adrienne Denaro of BagsID Network highlights, “This podcast features a mix of #AskGaryVee show episodes, keynote speeches on marketing and business, segments from his WEEKLYVEE video series, interviews and fireside chats he’s given, as well as new and current thoughts.”

Denaro loves the GaryVee Audio Experience because of Vaynerchuk’s “deep insights and ideas but also for his ability to cross generational gaps,” which make this podcast universally loved and a compelling way to bridge gaps between marketers of all perspectives.

“From the just-starting-out twenty-somethings to top-brass highly-experienced executives, an impressive number of friends and colleagues listen to this podcast. “This podcast mostly discusses the latest weekly trends in the marketing scene,” writes Trustana’s Isabella Zhou.

“It integrates all the key marketing topics, including digital content and strategies. In their 60-minute episode, they cover three to four stories that are all about the latest news. And there is always a one-minute ‘rant and rave’ where they choose to tell more about hard-to-face realities related to marketing.” Therefore, giving a practical and real touch to the show.

The reason Zhou recommends the show is that the episodes have “never had a dull moment in them. All their episodes are compelling. It is their delivery that attracts more people to listen to their content. They ensure that they include insights and humor that entice marketers to have in-depth learning about their discussions.”

17. Marketing Over Coffee

This one’s a podcast multiple marketers recommend. And it’s been going strong for over 13 years. 

As Connor Hewson of Assured Marketing attests, “For me there is no podcast better than Marketing Over Coffee. The informative content covers all areas of marketing, with a good degree of attention dedicated to each. Often, COOs, CEOs, and founders of large companies will give their insight into the marketing strategies that they have found best, and then break down exactly how to replicate the success of these campaigns.”

Kate MacDonnell of Coffee Affection appreciates that “it’s easy listening,” combining valuable education with a bit of entertainment. “Oftentimes, when I’m listening to an episode, it doesn’t feel like I’m listening to a business-related podcast. It feels much more fun than, that but there are many takeaways from each episode as well.”

Harriet Chan of CocoFinder echoes MacDonnell’s insights, adding that she appreciates the podcast’s breadth and interactive element. “This podcast sounds so casual, conversational, and not at all newsy. They share tips on social marketing, SEO, search marketing, copywriting, affiliate marketing, and more. The fun part is they take listeners’ questions.”

18. Business Made Simple with Donald Miller

Last on this list is a recommendation by Graeme Rattray from Home Studio Labs

“Donald Miller is the writer of the best-selling book ‘Blue Like Jazz’. He created the company StoryBrand to help companies become better at telling their story. He believes that story is the way to connect with customers.” 

Since Miller is a story expert, he goes “through the power of story and how to apply that to creating a compelling story about your brand where the customer is the hero of the story. He talks about clarifying your message so that people can easily understand what you are about and engage with your brand.”

So why is this podcast helpful to a marketing enthusiast? Rattray answers: “This podcast is great for helping a business to focus their marketing efforts.

“Getting a consistent brand identity and story can help make customers understand your business is going to help them achieve their goals or fix their problems so they can achieve their goals. It is a must-listen for any company that is doing any kind of marketing.”
