Using coupon codes in your promotions

Coupon codes give customers something to enter at checkout or hand over in person to claim an offer. A clear prefix, such as SAVE or FALL, tells customers immediately what the code is for and makes it easier to remember or share.

Unique codes per customer let you trace each redemption back to the person or channel that drove it, which is useful for tracking which promotions perform. A single shared code is simpler to promote in an ad or email, but it can end up on coupon sites and get used by people outside your intended audience.
