What referral codes are for

A referral code is a short identifier a customer or partner hands to the people they refer. When a new customer signs up with the code, the business knows exactly who sent them, which makes it possible to say thanks with a reward.

Generated codes work well for offline referrals, printed cards, events, and one-off promotions. For an ongoing program, referral software creates a code for each member automatically and records every signup against it.

No. The generator is completely free and there's no signup. Use the codes however you want, commercially or otherwise.
No. Codes are generated in the browser and never sent to a server, so nobody but you ever sees them. That also means they're gone when you close the tab, so copy or download them first.
