We tried social listening for our own company. Here’s what we learned, the pitfalls we ran into, and what we’d do differently.
(2017-2024) Referral Rock customers kept coming back with questions or worse, would go quiet and suddenly cancel. We needed a better, more human approach to onboarding
(2015-2017) Referral Rock’s story from beta -> real business in 3 years with no funding, an all remote team, and never leaving my chair (kinda)
(June 2015) Just another reluctant SaaS business in beta that didn’t know if customers were willing to pay. On practically a dare, that all changed overnight.
(2006-2012) I learned enough about startups and SaaS from UberNote to actually be successful. Blindspots, a startup incubator, fund raising, first customers, to holding on too long.
