What You Can Do with QuickBooks

Connect QuickBooks Online natively to Referral Rock referral software (a native integration currently in open beta). With Customer Feed, QuickBooks becomes a system of record for your program: when an invoice is paid, the matching referral is approved across all your programs and the customer can be enrolled as a member, with no manual reconciliation and no CSV imports.

Customer Feed: a paid invoice, payment, or sales receipt approves the matching referral across all programs
Preload paying customers as members automatically based on your account settings
Connect over OAuth: a QuickBooks admin authorizes the connection through Intuit
Reads QuickBooks Invoices, Payments, Sales Receipts, and Customers (inbound-only, read-only)

How the QuickBooks Integration Works

1

Connect QuickBooks over OAuth

A QuickBooks admin authorizes Referral Rock through Intuit's OAuth flow. No middleware and no API keys to copy. The native connection reads billing events directly from QuickBooks Online.

2

A paid invoice approves the referral

When an invoice is paid (balance reaches 0), or a payment or sales receipt is recorded, Customer Feed matches the customer and sets their referral to Approved across all of your programs automatically.

3

Preload customers as members

Based on your account settings, the paying customer can be added as a preloaded member and flow into your invite lifecycle, ready to start referring.

4

Trigger rewards on approval

The Customer Feed approval can trigger the reward automatically based on your program rules, gift cards, cash, or a custom incentive, with no manual work for your team.

Customer Feed: approve referrals when an invoice is paid

Connect QuickBooks Online as a system of record and let real billing events drive your program. The moment a referred customer's invoice is paid, their referral is approved and rewards can fire.

  • A paid Invoice (balance = 0), Payment, or Sales Receipt in QuickBooks sets the matching referral to Approved across every program it belongs to.
  • The connection is inbound-only and read-only: Referral Rock reads billing events over a secure OAuth connection and never writes to your QuickBooks account.
  • Customers can be preloaded as members based on your account settings, so they enter the invite lifecycle without any manual work.

Run your referral program on real revenue, not guesses

Approving referrals on a paid invoice ties your program to money actually collected, so rewards go out only when a referral truly converts.

  • Attribute every paid invoice to the advocate who sent the referral, automatically.
  • Track reward obligations tied to collected revenue, fully auditable.
  • Works alongside your other programs: a single paid invoice can approve the matching referral everywhere it lives.

Expert setup support included

Connecting a billing system and deciding which events should approve referrals takes a little thought. Every Referral Rock customer gets a dedicated advisor to walk them through it.

  • We help your QuickBooks admin authorize the connection and confirm the right billing events drive approvals.
  • We help you decide reward timing and how to structure your launch campaign.
  • If something doesn't connect the way you expect, we dig in with you until it does.
